About Timmy

Built on Years of Elite Competition

Over the past several years I've designed and refined training plans not only for myself but for teammates — achieving measurable gains in erg performance, efficiency, and consistency. I now work with a limited number of junior rowers who are serious about improving their 2k in a structured, sustainable way.

  • Yale University Lightweight Rowing, 2022–2026
  • Commodore 2024–2025 · Captain 2025–2026
  • 2026 U23 World Championships — Bronze (4-), Gold (Mixed 8+)
  • U.S. National Team Athlete, 6 years — 6 World Championships (2021–2026)
  • B.A. Psychology, Yale University

Coaching Philosophy

Elite Erg Speed Is Built, Not Rushed

// consistency

Consistent work over time — durable gains come from accumulated, repeatable training.

// base

Aerobic base before race work, so speed has a foundation to stand on.

// exposure

Intelligent, well-timed exposure to race pace rather than chasing it too soon.

// restraint

Deliberate avoidance of overtraining and burnout at every stage of the plan.

"Many junior athletes plateau by doing too much intensity too early and pushing toward burnout. This program emphasizes long-term progression and sustainable performance."

In Their Words

Any rower would be lucky to work with Timmy. He understands training from a scientific standpoint and is great at communicating advice on technique, training, and mentality. I attribute much of my erg success — dropping from 6:21 to 6:07 in 12 months as a lightweight — to Timmy's ability to craft a training plan and walk me through the best ways to approach training and erg testing.

Max — 2nd Fastest Yale Lightweight of All Time (6:07)

Timmy has been mentoring our U17 rower with his erg development program. Our rower's strength and endurance has improved, as have his erg times. Timmy provides a weekly program and helps encourage and support performance beyond just reps and pieces — his energy is contagious. He tailors the program to fit our athlete's team training and regatta schedule. It definitely played a part in his win in the U17 4+ at Youth Nationals.

Tereza & Brian — Parents

My son John has been working with Timmy for about 6 months, and it's been awesome. Along with being incredibly knowledgeable, Timmy is a good communicator and encourager — he strategically helps John with the physical and psychological components of rowing and keeps us as parents in the loop. John is talking to D1 coaches and hitting new benchmarks regularly in preparation for the next stage of rowing.

Let's Build the Plan

If you're interested in learning more, I'm happy to schedule a brief introductory conversation to determine fit and goals. Fill out the form and I'll follow up to talk through goals and see if it's a good fit. I work with a limited number of athletes at a time to make sure everyone gets real individual attention. Takes about 5 minutes.

Training guidance is developmental in nature and does not replace medical advice. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged.
